Before you start uploading files for printing, check if your materials meet the minimum requirements below. This will save you time and reduce costs, as well as ensure you avoid unpleasant surprises.
Errors often occur in file organization. To avoid them, follow these steps:
How to secure file folders and names
- Information for one product should be included in a single PDF file. If there are multiple pages, arrange them sequentially.
- Organize file names using Latin alphabet letters without diacritical marks, such as businesscard_90x50mm_500pcs.pdf.
- If additional elements like fonts or images are not included in the PDF, compress them into a ‘ZIP’ file.
Basic reasons for creating PDFs:
How to prepare a PDF file for printing
The safest way to prepare a file for printing is to use PDF/X-4. Here are the main guidelines:
- All raster and vector objects should be converted to CMYK. PANTONE colors should be clearly noted both in the file and in comments.
- Create a 3 mm bleed around the document and place important objects at least 3 mm inside the trim lines.
- The result will be optimal if you provide image resolution of 200-300 dpi, thus avoiding overly large files.
- Fonts should be converted to curves, and line thickness should not be less than 0.25 pt.
- Transparency effects, shadows, or Spot varnishes should be created on a separate Spot color field with Overprint.
Accepted formats include: PDF (PDF/X-4), AI, EPS, TIFF, PNG, JPG, ZIP
Final inspection procedure before sending
Before sending, use this checklist:
- Is a 3 mm bleed included around the work?
- Are all graphic elements in the CMYK color space and scanned with quality?
- Has JPEG compression not caused unnecessary artifacts?
- Are fonts correctly converted to curves, and does line thickness reach 0.25 pt?
- Ensure Spot elements comply with the color setup using Overprint.
Advantages of personalized printing with VDP
Unique tickets and personalized invitations are possible using VDP technology. To ensure personalization is executed precisely, please follow this data:
- Table formats – CSV, XLSX, or ODS; encoded with UTF-8.
- The column should be named according to the order set in the design in the first row position.
- Include a PDF preview with the field layout and a short comment indicating font and color use.
Are you ready to send the files?
Attachment of PDF or ZIP is essential for your order. If the document volume exceeds the platform limits, upload them to a secure cloud server and provide a direct link for transfer.
